Brownie base, with a cookie filling, topped with a chocolate glaze.


2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup oil
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, optional

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup flour

1 cup (6 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
1 tbsp shortening
3/4 cup chopped walnuts, optional



  1. Preheat oven to 350&deg.F.
  2. Grease 13″x9″x2″ pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, cocoa and salt.
  4. Add oil, eggs and vanilla; beat at medium speed for 3 minutes.
  5. Stir in walnuts, if desired.
  6. Pour into baking pan.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes or until brownies test done.
  8. Cool completely.


  1. Cream butter and sugars in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add milk and vanilla; mix well.
  3. Beat in flour.
  4. Spread over the brownies; chill until firm.


  1. Melt chocolate chips and shortening in a saucepan, stirring until smooth.
  2. Spread over filling.
  3. Immediately sprinkle with nuts, pressing down slightly.
