Ingredients

2 1/4 cups flour
1 2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup cocoa
1 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cup water
3/4 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Procedure

  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Dump all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  3. Bake for 45 minutes in an oblong pan, or 35 minutes in 9″ round pans.

Goes great with Grandma’s Frosting!
