From Mom C.

3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup cold water
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoon yeast
1 can cherry or blueberry pie filling (raspberry for Boys Weekend and Ed)

  1. Work flour, salt, shortening and sugar as for pie crust.
  2. Warm about half (1/8 cup) of the water and dissolve yeast in it.
  3. Combine water, eggs, and yeast with the flour mixture. Form a ball and chill for at least four hours.
  4. After dough chills, preheat oven to 450°
  5. Break off a piece of dough about the size of a walnut and roll out on a sugared board to saucer size.
  6. Fill with cherry or blueberry pie filling.
  7. Crimp edges and poke air holes.
  8. Bake 15-20 minutes.

Should make at least 18 turnovers, more depending on size.
